How long do they generally last before they start to weaken, rip or tear? With average CP soap use are we looking at the months or years time frame?

I'd like to know the answer to this, too. It never occurred to me until you asked that my shiny new "expensive" silicone mold may degrade one day...

Either...just silicone moulds in general. I know there are a lot of people who use them here and just wanted to know the time frames that they have deteriorated in.....

I'd love the answer to this one ... although I'm not sure there is a definite one.

I CP and during winter I heat in the oven for two hours ... at around 40 C. Some of my silicon loaf moulds have been used weekly for the past two years ... they're the grey ones ... no signs of of them breaking down yet. YAH! I hope they last forever.

I also use silicon muffin moulds most weekends ... no issues. The flower moulds are red silicon ... and I've been using them for about six months and not every week. So far I've not had to throw any silicon moulds away.

well, one of my silicone molds ripped the first time I used it! sigh. I shouldn't have wiggled it around so much when I was removing the soap. but I repaired it and have used it for the last two years with no problems.

treat them nicely and they should last a good long time.
