Can someone tell me good sites for guitar string cutters like "The Tank" etc. I've looked at TOG already....I just wanna see what's out there before I get my hopes up and realize I'm too broke to buy one. LOL.

LOL, Darn I thought I was going to get to go on a pretend shopping spree!

Sorry, can't help you with guitar strings :)

Can we pretend I have money too please??? That is such a wonderful dream....

I have been playing with the idea of making my own guitar wire cutter using the High E strings. As soon as I have some time to play (another one of those really find dreams :p ) I'm going to try it out....

I have been thinking about making one too Lindy . It is on my someday list..

It's one of those "how hard can it be" type of things since I already do woodworking - however - in my experience whenever I get cocky like that it turns out to be much harder....

LOL Yep , harder ,more expensive than buying the thing, and you end up with those unsightly bald patches on your head..

(Not a guitar player so bear with me here) but hubby and I priced those thingys (official term) that you twist to tune your strings and make the wire taut (tuners?) and they were like $30 apiece, and he decided ya might as well buy a cutter for what it's gonna cost to make one. I did find these, which are slightly cheaper :

but I think I'm with Ashley, and I want a thicker bar. I wonder if you can do that with these...

my husband is a piano tuner and he has all sorts of goodies to make a wire cutter...i just wish he was good at wood working.
