Can you use lemon or lime juice as part of your liquid in CP soap?

Lemon or lime or citrus fruit juice would neutralize the lye.

I used reduced lemon juice as my lye water in a recent batch. The sample cuts are more bendy than my other soaps. I think they have more superfat than I planned for and I always do 5%. Welp.. at least the citric acid acts as a mild preservative, maybe it makes up for it.

But if you HP the soap, couldn't you add it at the end of cooking? The lye is already neutralized by that point. It would add additional moisture that would then need to evaporate, but it wouldn't be able to do anything to the lye.

Yep, you'd end up with higher superfat because of the neutralization of some of the lye.
