I finally put in an order to WSP for some EO's!!! The prices were soooo much cheaper compared to my local health food store

Anyways, how much Lavender 40/42 should I use? I'm guessing its pretty wicked stuff and don't want it to be offensively strong . . .

Thanks in advance!!!

I've used lavender 40/42 in several batches and I think it's really nice. In cold process I use it at .75oz per pound because lavender is a top note and you need to use a little more so it stays better. I'm doing hot process right now though and I just did a batch using .5 oz ppo and I'm hoping that'll last. We'll see! How much did you end up using?

It's been a best-seller for me for years, but some people find it aggravates their allergies (including my brother - I gave him a bar and it immediately started a sneezing fit. He's allergic to pollens and grasses, mostly).

but I continue to sell it. I use 1/2 ounce ppo with an anchor, usually patchouli cuz I love it; but cedarwood works too, or litsea cubeba if you don't mind the lemony scent with lavender.

If I don't anchor it, I find the lavender too 'harsh'....like bubbles going up your nose when you drink gingerale too fast. kwim?

but then, some people LOVE it in its own.

I ended up using about .35 to .40 oz ppo. The scent is still strong on its own (5-6 weeks later) and has the camphory end note like some websites said . . . I think I'll have to blend it with litsea next time! Go for a Lemon Lavender Yankee candle type scent ;)

I don't have any litsea...is it really close to a lemon smell? How does it compare to lemongrass...that stuff is just way strong for my tastes...maybe I'd like litsea better? :)
