I understand here in the US, soap is not required to be labeled, but I am anyhow. I'm actually waiting to the cosmetic labeling guide to come in the mail, but in the meantime, I'm wondering about 1 particular thing. Is it acceptable to use the phrase "Saponified Oil blend of....." . My thinking is this: it encompasses the entire process, meaning, ingredients that go in, and come out. There is no lack of disclosure as to what went in, ie, Lye, or what comes out, Glycerin, because this is what saponification is about. If the customer wishes to ask what Saponified is, it can easily be explained, or they can research it on their own.
Am I wrong in my thinking?
