Hello lovely humans,

A lady that has some alpacas gave me some of the hair they do not use to make products since she read online that I could make some cool soap when extracting Keratin from it.

Since I have no idea how to do it, I was wondering if maybe people have done it and could recommend an easy tutorial for me to extract that really cool component and give her back some soap/shampoo bars with it :D :D
I have been doing already quite some research into it, however all the videos/tutorials I find are using very cool toys and/or equipment that are lab semi-professional.

Thanks in advance :) :)

Cheers

I just did a quick Google search:
It looks like there are a couple of videos floating around and several articles as well. I don't know if they're are exactly what you're looking for as I didn't click through any of them. If you haven't already done so, that's where I would start.

Also, search for Alpaca Wool here on the forum. I don't know if you'll find anything about keratin, but I bet there are people who have dissolved alpaca wool in their lye water.

Thanks Artemis.
I have seen a few videos and read also scientific articles as well, however I am not sure if they are the same you found :D.
If you have the opportunity, feel free to redirect me to the ones you found so I will get new knowledge.

Will check now in the forum for sure what you suggested.
