I want to try doing a Kaleidoscope design in my re-purposed Pringles can. I found something the old boy made as he is a machinist and makes plastic injection molds. I found what looked like part of a strainer/sieve and cut it down, enlarged the holes. Used Devcon epoxy to glue a wooden spoon to it! LOL! I had no dowel and too lazy to run to the hardware store!
I just hope my holes are big enough for the soap to go through. And I just don't pull the batter out of the can.
Might just enlarge them one more time.
Got canceled from work 2 days in a row! (Thanking the heavens!!!!) And I am patiently (er... impatiently)
waiting to un-mold yesterdays soap.
Going to play here!
Anyone have one I can see a pic of? Please and thank you!

Are you talking about M&P batter, or CP? M&P soap can be unmolded as soon as it's cooled and solid. No need to wait overnight.

I am trying my hand at cold process. I did a hot process class and the instructor made us wait too long to mold and I would expect everyone's soap crumbled. My niece is a melt and pour enthusiast. I have a melt and pour kit I was given as a gift I am going to use. I plan on getting some in-bed molds and in-bed some melt and pour designs into my cp.

Okay, the reason I ask, is you posted this in the Melt and Pour section, and for CP you might get better responses if you post in the Beginner Soap Making forum, or the Lye-Based Soap Forum. :)

OH! I just tried my homemade kaleidoscope tool with a slow moving recipe! And it pulled out nicely! This is going to feel like the longest set up time!!! I think this is batch 8 on my cp journey!

 WHAT??? OMG!!!!! Oh so sorry!!! Thought I was in CP! Moved magically.

I am wondering — Is it feasible to extrude into a mold soap that is not terribly fluid? Has anyone tried it?
