Hi it's me...Ducky. I've been lurking for the past several weeks and thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself.

For starters I have never made soap before but have thought about it for the last six or seven years. I never "jumped" into it because 1) Living in Hawaii means sunny skies, sandy beaches, and high shipping cost (or non-existent shipping in the case of lye), and 2) My childhood nickname was crash because I was very accident prone

Now I live in Vancouver, WA, which doesn't help with the accidents but does allow me some freedom to be crafty.

Anyway, I enjoy reading everyone's posts and just thought I'd send a quack out to all my peeps

Welcome to the board. There is alot of great info here. Am still a newbie myself only 5 batches under my belt, but am hooked !

Welcome from across the river! :)

Just wear your protective gear, handle your lye with respect and follow directions carefully, and you will never need to relive the "crash" days!

Welcome to the forum , it is great to meet you . Like Mike said wear your gear and go for it , once you have that first batch under your belt , you will feel much better about soap making and the lye etc.( You will also be totally addicted and the good news is that there is no known cure  )

Nice to have you here! :)

I was a nervous wreck making my first batch, but with safety precautions and having everything out and organized that I needed, I survived. (Bit of a klutz myself!) You'll be fine.

Happy Soaping! :)
