I know it's sort of dumb, but here's the basic packaging that I have for now (primitive would be an understatement).

I did a soap bar/lip balm and sugar scrub combo for shower hostess gifts.

The balm and scrub are in tiny bead jars in a cellophane package (hidden in pic by tag). There are directions and ingredient list on the reverse side of the tag.



 
Very clean and crisp. I love the Kraft brown...it always has an old fashioned look to it.
 
I like them! Easy to read and paired with a rustic looking soap would be great. :)

I need to come up with something for when I give my soaps away. Right now they are nekked ...........and it's getting cold around here!

I agree that it's classy and old fashioned looking. If that's the look you're going for, you might consider using burlap bags instead of plastic. I was just shopping for them last night for my own soaps and found that Uline has them for ~$.50 each.
