I’m caught on one idea but I don’t think I have the colorants for it. I might have a second idea but I also might need to spend the evening with Netflix.

Any Netflix suggestions to help everyone out?
The new “Lost in Space” wasn’t bad, not sure if it was really my cup of tea.

The sacrifices we make for soap!

I don't know about Netflix, as I don't have it. My new sci fi series are West World and Legion. Both, though, would require binge watching all of season one, it else you'd be list in season 2. Kill joys is fun, but no work of art. Old Standbys would be Battle Star Galactica, Star Trek: Voyager, Firefly...

I canceled my netflix, but I used to watch there Dark Matter. I think they also had Taken from Steven Spielberg, which was cool.

What kind of science fiction or fantasy shows you like? Not sure what I would guess this challenge would include harry potter (although not my thing), merlin, aliens in general, flaxy, planets, etc. One of my favorite shows was Roswell, and Farscape. Firefly was a good one too.

I already made mine, but I am seriously thinking about Zhann, so please do not steal my thunder on that one! LOL.

Zany you should join. You can take the pictures with your phone.

According to Netflix, the Marvel movies all count at sci-fi.

I was originally thinking Futurama for my bars, but I don’t have the right vibrancy to actually get it right. My second thought was Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, still on the fence about it. Something by Neil Gaimon also sounds good... Big Hero 6... does Edward Scissorhands count?

Oldies but goodies- Matrix, Blade Runner, Dr. Who, Logan's Run, Alien, War of the Worlds, Interstellar (okay, not so old), Planet of the Apes, The Blob, WestWorld, Avatar, Men In Black, Terminator, District 9, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Contact, Ex-Machina, Close Encounters, Iron Giant, Back to the Future, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Wall-e, Arrival, ET, Mad Max.

I think Edward Scissorhands counts.

Much as I'd like to make soap for this challenge, I am pretty sure I won't have sufficient time. My brother & SIL arrive tomorrow or the next day, and I haven't even come up with a definitive idea as yet.

I have thought of my favorite Sci-Fi stories/movies/music over the years to try to come up with some inspiration. So far, these stand out in my mind:

**** Tracy (comic strip I read as a child)
A vague memory of a book I read in the 1960's or 1970's about rising ocean waters overtaking the earth's surface (I don't recall the title or author)
Metropolis (film - 1927 - I used to have several versions of this movie, not sure I haven't lost them with my HD fail)
Terminator (all of the films and the Sarah Conner Chronicles series on TV)
2001, a Space Odyssey (film 1968 per IMb, but I am certain I saw it earlier as a preview in San Francisco before that date - while BART was first being built downtown; I remember the environment vividly)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951 - B&W film I saw on TV many times growing up)
Star Wars (1977 - My eldest son was visited by Darth Vader when he was in hospital and I have always enjoyed the banter between C3PO and R2D2 and of course the lovable Chewbacca)
Wall-E (2008)
Chappie (2015)
Close Encounters (1977 - my youngest son was 6 when we saw this one)
Planet P Project's Pink World album (1984 - all the songs - I used to listen this album endlessly in the 1980's)
- full album can be heard on youtube by choosing one of the results here. The first and second are the full album. For some reason links to either of those give an error.

With all these and many more, it was really hard to make a choice of what to use for inspiration, but I think I was leaning more toward the Pink World album as it had some pretty strong influence on me for a number of years.

So pleased these challenges are still going. I’ve been away for ages studying for my final few accountancy exams and I finally had the last one 2 weeks ago! Don’t have the results yet but I’m hopefully a fully qualified chartered accountant! I’ll spectate this month but hopefully join in next month!!

Congratulations Sonya! It's nice to see you back, and I can't wait to see your lovely soaps again.
