Joy Wax and Votives

I bought some Joy Wax from NG to use with votives. I used wick pins and was unable to get them out and had to use a hammer to get them out. Any ideas on using this type of wax? I only had to pour once which was nice. :cry:

I have not used Joy Wax, but I thought it was a soy, container blend.
