Such beautiful soaps from everyone! 🥰

Who has tips for getting that perfect smooth surface for your confetti soaps? Mine are kinda bumpy, and I see what looks very smooth on many of your confetti soaps. Especially noticed your smooth soap faces, @dibbles, @ScentimentallyYours, @Mobjack Bay. What are y’all doing to get that?
I feel like it is comparable to being able to fold fitted sheets - only witches can do it LOL. I’ve got the sheets down, now I need the smooth surface confetti soap process to add to my book of spells. 😉
One of the reasons I prefer Ciaglia to confetti soaps is the smoother texture. I do think the soaps for this challenge were smooth with just cutting with my wire cutter, but they normally are a bit bumpy. I think planing them helps smooth everything out if the surface is bumpy though.

@dmcgee5034 I didn’t do anything special to my soaps to smooth them this time, but I do have a polishing method that helps to make soap smoother without a lot of planing. I described it here: https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/polishing-soap-bars.90852/post-976833. The plastic cutting board I use is textured just enough to make it easy to get a polished surface without making any divots or gouges in the soap. I’ve tried using both alcohol and water for wet polishing and like 91% alcohol best because it dries quickly.

I recently watched a video by Teri Endsley where she used an automotive sponge (?) to polish her soap bars. It’s the same idea.
