Is my soap ruined?

I used a tin for mold lined with parchment paper, it did leak abit in corner. Is my soap safe to use? I do have sensitive skin.

If you are afraid of the little part that touched the tin, just cut it off. It should be fine either way.

It is more likely that the tin is damaged where the raw soap batter touched it. Hopefully you washed it out quickly once you found the soap batter on it. You may get some oxidation on that spot inside the tin.

Glad you aren't giving up! If you are looking for molds from things around the house, try shoe boxes (or any small box, really), plastic food storage containers, milk cartons, Pringles cans, or PVC pipes. Most of them will work better if lined. Have fun!

I use parchment paper. The kind you bake with.

Freezer paper has a shiny side that works very well to release from soap.
