Is it worthwhile to test soap before fully cured?

As the title says. I'm fairly new to CP soapmaking and I'm trying out a few recipes. I know soap won't have the hardness or longevity right away until it is cured, but if I take the end slices of my batch after I cut them and wash my hands with them, will I get an idea of the lathering, cleansing/drying qualities of the batch, or should I wait?

I think there is virtue to testing soap while it is curing. If only to prove to yourself that curing soap really does have benefits.

Weigh full sized bars every day or two for the first week then every few days to a week after that. Write down the weights and track the weight loss with time.

Decide on a method for testing the lather and repeat this test over time. Use the same water temperature, same number of swipes of the bar on your hands, etc. Record your evaluation of the lather over time.

You can also take notes about physical hardness, gentleness/harshness, changes in appearance and scent, etc. Write your observations down when you make them so you have an honest record.
