We love coconut oil in our soaps and one is 100% coconut oil with 25-% superfat. We used smaller, individual moulds once and they turned out a lovely milky white. Another time, we used a loaf mould and it was not as white/milky. A third time, we used a blue mica and it was cute, but there was a crack at the top. (We insulated with towels.)

Question: Should I insulate a pure coconut oil soap? I was told that it heats up anyway. Or should I just spray the top with rubbing alcohol and cover it?

PS: I should be packing and not making soap!!!

Coconut oil soap really easily goes through gel phase which makes soap darker; I just made some and even in cavity molds it started to darken in the center! If you want to keep it milky white, maybe put it in the fridge/freezer

In winter, I usually leave it outside
