I personally prefer full disclosure on my labels, and I list the oils/fats with english and inci name, as well as sodium hydroxide. I personally find having sodium hydroxide omitted feels dishonest, and I personally tend to find myself putting down any soap that does not have it listed. I'm sorry if that is offensive to anyone (I'm just trying to explain how I label things), but that is the way I feel.

Having said that, the person who said that it is no longer present has a point.

Should we be listing things it no longer contains? I suspect that is the difference between listing 'contains' and 'made with'.

Thanks so much Vic :D

Your lemon soap is gorgeous. I'm too chicken to try the bubble wrap. How do you get it so straight?

It is really really easy, I just lined my mold with it....poured in my soap, gave it whack on the counter to pack it in.....then got a strip and pressed down the top with it , ....pressing more on the sides so it humped up in the middle and left it there.

I have started pressing on each side like that, t since HP tends to sink in the middle....and have horns on each side when you slice it.....lol. I like the hump to be in the middle instead of on each side.

Like Deb, I prefer full disclosure, too. I label my soaps just like a boxed cake that I can get off the shelf at the store where everything is listed in order of % from the greatest to the least that went into making it.

Sometimes I have toyed with the idea of listing 'saponified oils of', but not every drop of oil that I use in my soap is actually saponified because of superfatting. Some may see that as nitpicking or splitting hairs, but to me, I feel that that's a very important issue to consider.

I suppose if I did label with 'saponified oils of' then I could also list , 'and also unsaponified oils of such and such', but since it's impossible for me to really know which oils were actually superfatted specifically or which ones the lye left alone, it's just less of a hassle for me to list it the way that I do.
