Honey

The best advice I can give when dealing with honey - Always use less than you think would be okay, it could destroy an otherwise great batch -

honey is soluble in water, so I reserve a bit of my water amount and whizz the honey and water (I also use oatmilk and a touch of sea salt at this point too) in the blender.

Oatmilk is the starchy "milky" water that results from soaking oatmeal in water. I use a tea filter (similar to a coffee filter in concept, open-ended perforated paper sack designed for loose tea) with oatmeal in it. I plop this in room-temperature distilled water.

beeswax needs to be well melted into your oils before adding lye. As mentioned above, it can contribute nicely to a harder bar but can also suppress lather. I recommend keeping the amount of bw low.
