I am so excited. I made a regular recipe with chortening, coconut and olive oils. My niece wanted a animal free soap. I scented it coconut and didn't color it. I poured half of the batch into the mold before adding salt, I didn't want to waste the entire batch if it didn't work out. Then I added a little more olive oil to the raw soap and SBd it up and then added the salt, 50% ratio. I unmolded it and cut it this morning. It looked and smelled great! I can't wait a month to try it.... :?

Sounds like a very nice soap.....I usually use about 70-80% salt, but I'll have to give the 50% a try. :)

Good for you . You will love them on your skin.
I think 50% is a good ratio too. I made some with 50% and some with 75% , I like the 50% much better and it is a lot easier to work with imho.

Yay!! Congratulations!! I haven't tried them yet. My feeble brain always makes me think they'd be scratchy, but they obviously aren't or no one would like them.
