I made some soap, put it in the wood molds, put the top on and they are looking great. The extras that wouldn't fit I poured in to a plastic mold and covered with plastic wrap. The soap that went into the plastic molds isn't the same color and its tacky to the touch. I have some I made a few days earlier and its the same deal with the extras. I think it was because I didn't insulate it? Sound about right?

Would this stuff be able to be saved? Should I try to rebatch it? Let it cure and see how it turns out? Trash?

I'm sorry for all the newbie questions, I do appreciate the advice and help.

If the soap in the individual molds didn't gel (which is common), it may be lighter in color and could take a bit longer to harden. You shouldn't need to rebatch or anything. Let it cure and see how it turns out!

The color issue may be because of the two gelling differently. Wait and see how they are once they cure.

As for the two seperate molds, the soap out of plastic may feel tacky becasue there is more water content in them than the ones from the wood. The wood molds do absorb some of the water content from the soap and that may be why they feel less tacky. Give them some time and see what happens.
