Hi all well I have been really busy (running like chicken with head cut off) but tonight before my work shift started I had to make some soap. The good news is I work at home so I could pour into mold with 3 mins to spare before work. Its a bit of an experiment because 1st batch no castor oil just want to see how it does. Oatmeal and honey added. Tallow OO and a little crisco. Used a frenchfried onion can lined w freezer paper for mold. I felt the need for round soap last several batches have been rectangular bars. So we shall see how it goes later today.

did you ever use pringles cans they make the perfect size, I am always eyeing up new molds in things around my house, it's hard to get rid of the soapbug it just gets bigger..

I've only made one batch of soap, and I used a Pringles can. I didn't insulate the can, though, so my soap has rings. They seem to be fading a little...
I like the size and shape, definitely!

Pringles cans are great for soap, as are milk cartons, Just tear em off and throw them out.
Cheap and available!!
I haven't soaped since just before Christmas. It's school holidays here and I just haven't had the chance to get to it. I've done lots of inventory and packaging/labelling, but no actual soaping.
Starting to get the shakes actually.
In the whole time that I've been soaping (nearly 2 years) I have never had a break of more than one week inbetween batches.

i had a break from soaping for 2 months because of a new job; the 2 months was even more significant because i had only been soaping for not quite 2 months before that. i resumed a few days after christmas and have made 8 batches since - i am making up for lost time, and i want to be ready for any gifts i have to get ready ...that sort of thing...sniff....i'm going to shelve it all tomorrow - back to work, and this month is going to be a killer for me.
