I wanted to make shaving soap for my DH, and had it all planned out. Pretty simple, and going to glass jars.

I live with a head injury that seems to be aggravated lately, and sometimes I forget things. Well, I usually write everything for the fear of forgetting. I put my list of oils in a small post it note, and scratch as I go to make sure I do not forget any ingredient in my batch.

Well, I'll be darn, I forgot one of the oils after I finish. I keep a ledger of my soaps, a while writing the ingredients, thankfully I realized that I forgot the coconut oil, and ran to my jars, scoop the soap out, put it in my soap crock pot, and added the oil I had forgotten .....

My question is: will it work? It was 12 hours or so after I first poured it, and it was hard .... or should I throw it away?

Thanks.

I guess it would be a rebatch since you put it back in the Crock and redid it, no ?

I am not much help, I don't do rebatch.

And don't feel bad, I make a list and check it off with my Pen as I do recipes too ;)

I found that writing it down and triple checking helps a lot, but I try to do the same thing as i do when baking. I get all my ingredients out and put them away as I use them. It makes it fairly clear if I forgot something. It's not flawless but it's another level of double check that's helpful ;-)

That and putting the fragrance oil bottle in the mold. I can't even count how many times that's saved me!

Good luck, I hope the re-batch works out for you!

Thank you all! I really appreciate it. I did add about 2 tablespoons of distilled water.

At least I will know if my husband likes the recipe, or even using it instead of cream.
