Hi all. I'm Lauren. I've recently joined the forum and am excessively new to soap making. Like, getting-ready-to-attempt-my-first-batch new. I had hoped to have a few nice soaps by Christmastime to hand out to friends and co-workers, instead of cookies. Anyone can do cookies - I can do soap!
I finished my doctorate degree in May and am now only starting to enjoy the concept of free time and having hobbies! I'm looking for some fun creative outlets, since I haven't ever had time in my life (up until now, anyways) to do anything like this. I enjoy creating and making things that I can use and enjoy. Thus, I knit and crochet, garden and can/preserve and would like to be a soaper, just for fun. Who knows - maybe after this, I'll try my hand at cake-decorating! I have no intention of ever going into business doing any of these things. In fact, I count myself as among the lucky few who immensely enjoy their day job and I get great fulfillment out of it. I live in rural Maryland with my husband and our three fur-children, whom I will happily discuss with anyone who can feign interest for long enough. Hi!
