rice bran and olive are essentially the same in soap, so I'd not put in that much of them combined. it's akin to 40% olive oil. nothing wrong with 40% olive oil, but then you won't get kick ass lather. I personally would take out that RBO and add 3% of it to the shea butter and the remainder to the CO.

Thanks for the advice....

I have been trying to get the cleansing number down because it makes my fingers wrinkle...

You can get a wonderful rich lather with 70% OO (you can split that up to add your Rice Bran), 20% CO, 5% Castor Oil & 5% Cocoa Butter. It's not going to be huge bubbles but it is thick, rich and really moisturizing and would be even better with the GM..... Don't be afraid of high OO soaps, they are amazing on your skin.

Welcome back. :D

Lindy, How long would that soap need to cure for? I thought they had to cure longer with OO over 50ish %? This upcoming weekend I want to make a goatsmilk soap for my mother for christmas.

That's great to hear, one of my recent batches was similar (70% OO with CO and castor).

Welcome back Ruth :D

Awe - feeling the love.

Hard Drive - luckily I backed up all my files on a USB stick so I didn't loose all my receipe and soap files..

I like the RBO but use it in small % and love how it has added to my soap. My aged (47yo) skin has responded. Less lines and have been told my skin is "glowing". Now that could have been when I was having a hot flash but I'll take it..

I think I will try a batch with my first calculations. I wonder what the shea and castor will add to my soap.
