I just made my first tallow soap so I can share in your excitement! I love how light and summery they look. Great job!

Well, here they are!

The one on the left is without oats, the one on the right has oats.

Beautiful soaps! Well done! I particularly like the one with oats. Can you give us your recipe? I would love to try it.

It was 45% Lard, 35% OO and 20% CO. With a 10% SF

As for flashpoints on the EOs, I waited until it had cooled a while before adding them in.

It's only 5 days old.......but yes! I broke a piece off just to play with it and it already lathers quite nicely and feels good.

I always plan my hot process to finish about 8ish pm so that I cut the loaves to dry while I'm drinking coffee in the morning before work. I get up at 5 am. I have a tank cutter and the soap cannot wait until 6:30 at nite!!! During soap "season" I have 5 crocks going at the same time!

Well, I used this for the first time last night - about two weeks after I made it.

They say that soaps will be better after a longer cure, in that case this soap is going to be so ruddy good! It was so nice to use in the shower and then this morning on my face.

Next time I might put a little bit of a butter in as the SF (when doing it HP), but I want to see how it is after a longer cure - in conclusion, I am LOVING it so far.
