okay, let me re word constructive criticism. i meant to say i work well with comments that actually tell me what happens

You can't set a limit on the term "constructive criticism" since everyone has their own definition for it. You asked for help and now you're trying to set conditions on the help you receive.

You have been getting answers but they're not what you want to hear. You even stated you're not getting the answers you want.

To reiterate what lpstephy85 was explaining, no one knows exactly because base ingredients, additives, gelling/not gelling, usage, size, washcloth/no washcloth/scrubby, curing time, hard water or soft water and so on are going to effect the results. You need to test, test, test.

You may not believe it but people have been giving constructive criticism and were trying to help you.

After reading judymoody's post, it looks like my facetious comment about making a batch today and selling tomorrow was more accurate than I thought. I don't care if you call it a "sneak peek" and state you didn't say they were for sale. You made your first batch two days ago and you're already promoting it. Promotion on your FB page gives the implication to your customers that it is for sale. You've never heard of a "teaser"?

In regards to some of your earlier remarks, I haven't seen a single person say your soap is crappy or that you are stupid. I'm offended that you even posted those comments directed at members who tried to help you. I can see from your previous posts and your FB page that this forum isn't going to be able to satisfy your concept of learning from more knowledgeable people. It's really too bad that you don't find this forum helpful or able to answer your questions. There are many other soap forums where you might find nicer and more helpful members who will be able to give you definite answers. I suggest searching with Google.

okay thanks.

I have been making M&P for over ten years. My have my recipes changed. Thank goodness. I didn't know much about what was harder and how long it would last, etc. It took years to get them where I wanted and I like what I sell today. I have started to make CP now and I made a very good bar much harder than my M&P and creamy, but even though I like it and I know it lasts long, I'm still not happy with it because I want to get a greater conditioner number because of what I've learned here. I'm going back and try a new formulatiion. All this to say, that experimentation and patience is the key for me. I definitely want to sell my CP soaps. I do have one formula that I have made and it's great. Now it's time to tweek the other because I use different oils and additives. Because I maybe liable, legally, for what I pass on to the public, I've got be careful what I make, how I make it and be truly satisfied with what I make. My M&P soaps are not as fancy or as pretty as some other people's soaps, but my customers like them. I've taken alot of time creating them and making sure their safe and responsible and they sure feel good. Whether you sell your soaps today or six months from now, you've got to know that they are safe and you're making them responsibility. Soap making is chemistry and mathematics. What makes it unique is that all additions and subtractions don't yield the same answer. That's the beauty of it. For me it's the math. I find that intriguing. Yes, I love the soap calculator, but I'm not bound to it because I'm learning the chemistry. Huffychick, I wish you well on your journey, but I hope you continue to use the Soapmaking Forum as tool to help you get there. It's only one tool. There are many others out there.
