I finally was able to squeeze some time out of my day to do 2 batches. Batch #1 Green Tea and Lemongrass. Used French green clay to color 1/3 and ground up some lemongrass for texture in the uncolored portion.

#2 Angel Wings by Aztec. It acceerated so I quickly put it into the BB round pipe mold after coloring half with pink clay. When I pounded on counter to get out the air bubbles, THE BOTTOM FELL OFF and soap was everywhere. I felt like Lucy in the chocolate factory! I quicky scooped it up with a spatula and threw it into a loaf mold. Whew! Hope it will be okay because it smells nice.

36 bars
4 batches:
Playa Negra: seawater, seaweed and fine black sand from my local beach, no added scent.
Dirty Dog: infused nettle, madera negra and gavilana with neem and castor oil, no added scent.
Coconut Lemongrass: coconut milk and shredded lemongrass, lemongrass EO added.
Shooting stars: a rebatch of all my scraps with activated charcoal, no added scent.

Happy weekend

amending my last post here... my daughters had friends over this afternoon for homemade pizza on the brick oven. While here, we all made another (4th) batch for the weekend.

1) 18 bars - this batch
2) 4th batch
3) Bamble Berry "Sun Ripened Raspberry" + cocoa butter to get a final scent of Raspberry & Chocolate
4) Electric Bubblegum, Titanium Dioxide, Cocoa Powder with a small amount of Black Oxide to get a dark chocolate color. Going for a swirl effect to mimic Raspberries dipped in white and dark chocolate.

Yes, I have to amend my post also. I broke out the rubber gloves that are too small for me and made a batch tonight before I went crazy since I can't soap tomorrow either because of several various appointments.

1) 6 bars
2) 1 batch
3) Peak's Sage and Lemongrass
4) natural and green oxide with ITP swirl

Lol Badger....living on the edge with those tiny gloves :) I bought nice gloves from the Dollar Tree but the fingers are too long and it drives me nuts so I don't wear them...and I have some lye burns to prove it ;) Yes...I know...reckless. I like to live on the edge, what can I say?

I made 3 batches on Friday and 3 batches on Sunday for a total of 42 bars.

1. Dreamsicle (Turmeric, TD)
2. Blackberry Sage (Green/Purple Mica)
3. Cotton Candy (Complete Failure...I won't even talk about it)
4. Egyptian Musk (Green Clay, TD...can't see the swirl of green but very creamy)
5. Cherry Cake Batter (pink/raspberry mica and a bit of cherry juice, TD)
6. Country Berry Hotcakes (indigo, purple mica, TD)

Well, the gloves aren't tiny, just that they don't fit in a way that I like.. they are tight over most of my hand but some finders are loose. The latex gloves feel much more comfortable and less clumsy. I just needed to make some soap though... it was really sad, I have been moping the past few days.

It pained me to not make any soap, but I'm still fighting fatigue from my knee replacement surgery. Grrrrr!!!!! Truth is, I could make 3-4 batches of soap, in the time it took me to make the above. But body/spa products are part of my business, have my first vendor show on the 20th, out of those items.

1) 44 bars
2) 4 batches
3) Spellbound Woods FO from BB, Peppermint EO, Lavender EO, Cucumber FO from BB
4) yellow oxide, green chrome oxide, ultramarine violet oxide, black mica

I was so excited to try the tiger stripe technique on my first batch that after I had the batter all layered in the mold and I was feeling pretty good about how it went, I realized I forgot to add the EO...got a very pretty soap with no fragrance. I tried again on my second batch and remembered the EO that time. It turned out nicely but the tiger stripe isn't as pretty as the first batch. Third batch ended up looking like a rock my husband has in his collection, which was totally by mistake since I think the TD caused the mabeling, but it actually looks pretty cool.

That "rock" is probably the coolest soap I have ever seen! If you're sharing I would LOVE to know how you accomplished that!

I managed to make
1. 16 bars
2. 2 batches
3. grapefruit lily, buttercream snickerdoodle
4. TD, micas, cocoa powder, ultramarine violet, electric bubblegum pink

Need to make more space to cure more!

It was purely accidental. The crackling happens every so often on me...don't know if it is the TD or overheating. When I was making the soap, in my mind I had a vision of a creamy yellow soap with some white and black swirls...got cracked rock instead. lol

The sun was out here and I played in the garden all weekend. Managed to make a little experimental soap though...

1) How many bars did you make? 20

2) How many batches did you make? 2 One pine tar, one doggie bar

3) What EO did you use? Fir needle for the pine tar (what a gooey mess!), and a small amount of lavender for the dog bar, using Genny/Lindy's shampoo bar recipe with emu oil and colloidal oatmeal.

4) What Colors did you use? None
