I use 2 ounces per lb of oils but I subtract two ounces of my coconut oil to make it still come out to 16 ounces of oils. I don't just substitute without running it through soap calc just to be sure.
 
I always SF mine at 4% and it really makes a difference but I do know that for some people SB is drying. For me (and a lot of my customers) its lovely. SB is not supposed to be affected by the saponification process so it does really make a rich, skin food bar. that is my experience but, as I say, I dont have any problems with it so I might not be the best judge.
