If I buy lye and essential oils, how long do i have to use them, since I might buy them in large bundles. I just dont want waste and anything to go bad before I get to use them.

As I use just M&P, I don't know much about lye. However I do use lots of EOs and you do need to have some care how you handle and store them.

This is a link to a good list of things to consider when working with EOs.
I'm sure you can find some answers about lye on this site as well.

Best of luck in your endeavors! :D

Lye is good for close to forever if it's stored properly in an airtight container that is not over-sized (you don't want a few pounds in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, for example). Essential oils, on the other hand, mostly have a relatively short shelf life (especially citrus, but others as well) and should be used within the year with some exceptions (patchouli, for example, gets better with age), and need to be stored properly (glass containers, kept cool, minimal temperature shifts)
