How important is the type of water used when making CP soap?

How important is the type of water used in CP soap? Should you use distilled, pure from a water pure filter, RO, or just plain old tap water? I have city water that's clean, a little on the hard side, but no smells and the taste is good. It has all of the common city water additives.

I think it depends on the city. I stopped using distilled or purified water in favor of tap water. We have fantastic water here (BC, Vancouver area).

From the sounds of your water, your soap will be fine. I doubt you would find any difference.
