How do you dry your coffee grounds for coffee scrubs?

I’m wanting to use spent coffee grounds to add to my emulsified sugar scrub recipe. Should I air dry the grounds (worried about microbe contamination) or oven dry (worried they’ll get too dry and get sharp again) or something else? Would appreciate feedback from those who sell too just so I know what to think about when giving it away. Thank you.
 
I'd be uncomfortable rehabbing used grounds to add to a scrub, especially if it's to be used by others.

I grind coffee beans as finely as possible and sift the ground coffee through a wire strainer to remove the largest particles. I use the fines in soap or other products. The coarser particles are used for my next pot of coffee. No worries about microbial growth. No problems with scratching the skin either.
 
Oh I must have misinterpreted what I was reading elsewhere then, thanks for setting me straight. I thought I had read that using dry never used ground coffee was dangerous due to how sharp the grounds can be.

I sometimes incorporate used coffee grounds in scrubs or soap. At one point I had tried saving a couple of days' worth of grounds with the intent to dehydrate them. Even in the fridge, they quickly grew some obvious nasties. So now I immediately take the used grounds from the coffee pot and dehydrate them on a sheet pan in the oven. When everything is bone dry, and cooled off, I regrind it in a cheap spice grinder that is not used for anything that we will eat.
