How do I make without smelling up the house?

I have yet another suggestion...but it means buying another piece of equipment! You can get a small air purifier and plug it in , in the room while you are soaping and cleaning up. It will work best if you can close the door to this room while soaping. We always had one running in our DD's room for her allergies. Curing the soap is another problem but you might be able to put them in a cupboard or closet away from your main living areas. The air purifier tends to dry out the air a bit so that is a plus for soap making. Could you cure out in the cottage with the purifier running out there to help dry out the air in there?

ok, iam now in cottage! i made my first soap out there yesterday, it was ok, still some organizing to do, miss having the sink, but just threw all dishes in crock and brought in the house. Oh and I got ac! the unit im using is for sale, but if it sells i will get a small window unit!

Glad to hear that things seem to be working out. :)

My 2 youngest kids finished school yesterday (ice storms in MA really messed up our school year) and I would love a place of my own to soap.

I use to soap on my kitchen island on my days off but now that everyone is home I feel a bit guilty ignoring them (although at 19, 15, and 13 they do a good job ignoring me!).

Enjoy your own space.

My brain just joined your posts together - cottage - right!

Kim's Country Cottage, .. Do you have a native bird that hangs about, or plant in the woods to add to the ' ___ cottage' perhaps ?

this is exactky what i was thinking in her other post! lol

yanno, if you leave your soaping pot to sit for a couple of days, most of the stuff turns to soap in which case you can wash it out with the hose - thus no need to bring the pot indoors till most of the fragranced goo is GONE.

help with all the initials.........

DD, DH, MIL (I get that one, mother-in-law, right?).... what do they all mean. Is there a playbook for this?

Yeah they are gorgeous until the catalpa worms start feasting.

I LIVE to smell-up my house with soap, or candles, or whatever. My house was built back in the 40s. If I didn't make it smell purty, it would just smell like old house.

got ya beat, my house was built in the 20s! but we have redone it all, so no old smell.

name for business?think i got it!

thanks for all the ideas, i think i only have to care what names are taken in my state? "cottage soap" is not taken!!!
