When your soap has cured for about 4 weeks and is hard, put the gloves on and rub the bars firmly. I call this buffing the soap. This will smooth the edges as well. Cathy

G Guest Apr 29, 2008 #3 Hi! Soaps that are gelled make for very shiny soaps after buffing. Some that do not gel are just too creamy looking to ever really get a nice shiny look.
