I accidentally pulled up the cover to my soap mid gel. I got it confused with another soap. Ugh. So what's the worse that can happen? I finished it and wrapped it at around 12 today. I opened it around 4. At 730 It still has a large gelled/very soft area in the middle but the edges are very warm and hard already. Will it be ok? It was perfect but when I opened it up, I realized that the cover was slightly touching the soap : /

Yes, I believe so. It was just about to the edges.

It will be fine. I cannot help myself and always peak.....ok, so I peak a LOT! LOL Don't worry your soap sounds like it was warm enough so no partial gells for your soap :D

Just thought of something...if you don't have a top for your mold here's a tip. Take a piece of cardboard and wrap it in saran wrap. Place this on top of your mold so that when you lay the blanket over it you won't have to worry about it touching your soap. I use my wrapped cardboard every time whether I gell or to protect my soap when I put it in the fridge.

I have done that and wrecked the top but the soap was just fine..

Thanks everyone for your positive feedback. I was so worried because I used 80 oz of oils and it's layered and came out perfect.

I always peek too! But this time it wasn't intentional and I pulled the top off completely and it's been chilly here. I too have no soaping patience lol

Will the color change? Looks like it still is going thru light gel? ImageUploadedBySoap Making1381417656.805458.jpg
The messed up middle is from my cover touching it . I guess that can be fixed but worried about the color. It's cold to the touch now.
