From my under standing there aren't a lot of short cuts to soaping. I would wait at least 4 months before using them to get the full benifit.

You can " use" your HP and cp that has gelled as soon as they are cooled down and ready to cut. But, all soaps need a good cure to finish properly and the longer the better. Just make some up and try it out at one day and then once a week until its gone, take notes and soon you will know the "time" for each of your formulas. Sounds like a pain but what you learn is really worth it. And it will be what works for YOU, and YOUR soaps. Have fun and good luck.

I CPOPed a castile with a pretty big water discount thinking to shorten cure time. It's been curing for a week and a half and feels as hard as a rock, so I tried one out and can tell already that it still needs to cure some more. I like it, but can tell it won't last as long as I perceived that it would. I guess it doesn't matter how you make castile, cure times are just longer for 100% olive oil.

My last batch was a HP Castille, and I let it cure for a week before having DH try it out. He LOVED it... the rest are still curing... 2 months later :) I thought it was a great way to cut down on the cure time for Castille soap.
