My first attempt at using honey - do the honey spots matter? I didn't want to over-mix it and have it get too thick to pour. I also used oat flour and clay because I liked my facial mask so much.

Even though I knew it was too soft I couldn't resist cutting a little.

Looking forward to trying it while I wait for those salt bars!

No scent added - I don't think my face likes fragrance much. ImageUploadedBySoap Making1388723017.948190.jpgImageUploadedBySoap Making1388723031.279865.jpg

They look yummy! :) I'm not sure about honey, but as long as everything else is mixed through, I think it should be fine. I also keep my facial bars unscented. Or just naturally scented. ;) I looove natural soap scent.

That's sounds like such a nice mix and the texture looks great. I've had small honey blobs before and they were no real drama. Just messed with the look a little.

Personally I would be concerned about the bars with clumps of honey. The rest of it looks really nice though.

Ants aren't a concern here.

The mould is from bulk apothecary - I think.

They look so nice! Great minds think alike, because I'm making a facial soap today. I also add the honey at thin trace and hand blend. However, I've never had honey spots. How much did you use? I would use the ones with the spots first.

That is beautiful soap..I would use the bars with honey spots first. I too mix the honey with the warm oils and sb the heck out of it before I add the lye mix.

Yes! Great minds do think alike! I put them all away except for the two spotted ones which I have left on the kitchen counter to use first :)

I hand blended at barely light trace then took to the stick blender briefly. I guess I got most of it blended ok the other bars look fine after the cut.

I was fairly generous with the amount of honey I used :) about 1:4 cup I think. When I saw bubbles appearing I put it out on the balcony to cool down so it wouldn't overheat. No way I'm going to fit soap in my freezer. After scraping the base it looks fine, I caught it in time.

I soaped at low temp but our condo is always pretty warm.

I forgot one thing...I water down the honey a little before adding it to the soap batter. I use 1 tbsp ppo.
