Has anyone bought from OBN? What's the quality of the oils?

Hi Hazel - I buy from them quite a bit. All supplies have been great! Fresh and no issues. I think I may e using too much Avocado oil in my soap and with a few fragrances I think it may may be a little off smell (I think since this is the one that seems to have the strongest oder - to me) - but the CO PO Castor Apricot Kernal PKO Almond Macadamia I have all tried and great. No DSO no issues as far as I can see.

Great customer service too via email or phone. Shipping never had an issue either. Shipping costs were good and so I order mainly from them. I am in the middle - I don't need drums of supplies but 8 or 16 oz is too small for me.

Good luck!

Yes, Soapers Choice does allow pick ups but I see PrairieCraft already answered your question.

palm kernel and po are not the same at all, pk is most like co.
I like obn, but also shop soapers choice, whatever is the best price, oh I wish I had a place that I could pick up from! jealous!

loveit_latherit -

Thanks for letting me know. I don't need any supplies right now (although I want some more) I'll have to try them when I order again. I don't make very big batches so it will be awhile.

OBN is located in Solon, were are you? I live just 15 minutes away and they allow pick up.

Aaargh! Picture me green and frothing at the mouth...I'm sooo envious.

I'm about 4 hours south of Solon so pick up isn't an option for me.

All three of you are lucky to be close to suppliers. (Now I'm going to spend the rest of the evening thinking about how I live in the middle of nowhere, mumbling naughty words and sulking.)

*lol* I'm sorry Hazel and Honor!! I didn't mean to make you feel bad! If its any consolation its not easy to take out a 50 lb. bucket of oil out of the back of your car by yourself when you only weigh 110. I have sticks for arms and I feel like I'm going to snap them off pulling the bucket out of the trunk! *lol*

Woo hoo! I was checking out OBN to see where they are and they're in Ohio. Hopefully, this would mean the shipping rates would be very reasonable. :D

Kamela -

Does soaperschoice allow pickups?

i've always ordered from OBN and been very happy with the products and service.

Thanks for another vote of confidence. I'll definitely order from OBN next time. :D

Just a note on OBN - it's acutally obvious to people other than me because I don't know WHY I didnt realize this BUT - When you order from OBN and you see 8 lb Container or 8 lb pail - Get the pail .... Ugh. Accidentally I ordered coconut oil in the container (which is the same container liquid oils come in that you pour the contents out from) and had to melt the whole thing down and pour it into a pail. THANK GOODNESS I was HPing today and had my water going (I HP Double boiler style) ...

But they are good :)

the melting point of coconut oil is 76 degrees so it doesn't take much toliquify it. when I was working with 7 # bottles it was no biggie to let it melt.

stuff with a higher melt pint is more problematic.

Thanks for mentioning this because I might not have thought about it.
