So last night I tried the 80% lard 20% coconut oil recipe I see floating around here just for kicks and something different. Having only done 6 batches of soap now I haven't quite fully lit on but one or two recipes that I think I'll keep and make over and over, so I'm in full on experimentation mode still.
I stuck it on a heating pad for half an hour just to make good and sure it gelled (and peeked a couple hours in, and sure enough enthusiastic gel) and it was ready to cut this morning, albeit just a little greasy around the edges.
I really, really dig this swirl. It goes into the toolkit with the drop swirl. I did it using the technique in that Soaping 101 video where they made it without dividers, since I have none. My mold is a piece of coroplast I nicked from our sign supplies and cut up.
Anyhow, pictures!
