I've been using whipping cream but I haven't started using the bars yet. Two of the batches having been curing for slightly over 4 weeks and the third batch has only been curing for 9 days. It's the batch which looks so creamy. I did try a sliver from one of the first batches and I'm pleased with the lather.

I lowered my SF because I figured the whipping cream would have a lot of fat in it.

I don't remember...are you making salt bars? IrishLass mentioned that when she makes salt bars with milk, she uses 13%.

Carebear...just want to make sure I've got this right..
I'm not sure of the amount in the GM in the baking section of our grocery store, but if it's 8oz, then I need 8oz of water - PLUS enough to equal my lye (and I will convert it all to grams...way too anal to use ounces, LOL).
So I'm looking at the 2-lb recipe for 100% CO with a 20% superfat that I used from soapcalc...YAY that they give oz and grams, and I used 12.16 oz of water to 4.69 oz of lye. So I should be good with 6.08 oz of water to mix with my 4.69 oz of lye, and then add 6.08 oz of GM at trace? Do I have this right?
BTW..I seriously owe you some brownies or something for all the great advice!! Sorry to be such a PIA...

sounds right (I cannot check your actual amounts right now but the math seems correct)

It was Carebear that introduced me to the 100/20 Co soap many moons ago. I can't tell you how much I love that soap.

I just made this one. Really looking forward to trying it :) Thanks for sharing.

Adema,
I tried the 100/20 Coconut today and this is what I got. The FO was OMH so it's kind of golden. I love it! My first time trying it. Glad you posed this question :)

Those look great heartandsoap :) I haven't figured out how to get the tops like that, someday!

thanks Hazel and Amy :) I was so impressed that the 20%SF incorporated completely. I've never SF'd that high before. :)

Amy, to get the tops wait about 5mins after you pour for it to start to set and then I use a plastic spoon and scoop the soap from the sides and put it to the middle. You can get all kinds of shapes. You can reserve some of the batch to drizzle, etc... The less you manipulate the stiffer the peaks will be. It's fun to do so it may be hard to stop :) I gel so the peaks soften a bit. I think they would hold well with the fridge process. I wouldn't try to fridge process with this recipe tho. It was a corner to corner full gel about an hour after pouring.
This is a great recipe.
