Hi Everyone,

I want to start making soaps...have been inspired after making my own salt scrub last night and felt a lot better after using it...hehehehe ...I want to start...but where do I begin?

Any suggestions on soap kits that I should buy?...what process works best for beginners?...where I should get them?

Thanks much...all your inputs will be appreciated..:)

Hello and welcome. I will suggest the same Olive and coconut recipe to get your feet wet.

Try using about 75%-80% Olive Oil and 20-25% Coconut.

Go over to the tutorials section and read about Soapcalc and lye calculators.

But, most of all.....have FUN! :)

Welcome!!

Keep it simple as everyone before me has mentioned. You'll have a better idea for the process if you don't overcomplicate things.

You don't have to spend a ton of $$$ to start either. (that will come later, fragrance oils are very hard to resist!)

Happy soapmaking!!
