I'm Pam, from Central Virigina (transplant from Baltimore, MD). I began soaping a couple years ago with mixed success. I started soaping with the specific goal of making shampoo bars. I was active on Mystic Mountain Sage forum - I see that that is gone, and only the online store and blog remains.

Found this forum while searching for information.

Everyone is friendly in spite of my odd inclination

of trying to make solid shampoo. Now I've got a basement soap lab with shelves of all sorts of soap. Its fun! I've even had success with making solid conditioner bars.

I love to cook and bake. I work at an organic/health conscious grocery store. I sew and crochet and make jewelry and have been know to put up jams as well.

Oh, and I ride a motorcycle... I used to teach people to ride, back in Baltimore. Happy to be part of the community!

Hi Pam! Welcome! That's great you are trying to make your own shampoo bars; I'm trying too, it's definitely a learning curve! It's great to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I just successfully made a batch of conditioner bars and I'm curious to know what ingredients you used (esp. which emulsifier?)
