My name is Val, and I'm a brand-new soaper. I made my first batch last night from a recipe I found at millersoap.com. It turned out good from what I can tell so far, but we'll see once I get it shaped and cured. I went to Books-A-Million today and bought The Soapmaker's Companion, The Everything Soapmaking Book, and Handcrafted Soap. I figured between the internet and those three books, I might be able to figure this stuff out. Anyway, so HI!

Hi, Val. I'm new, too, and I'm also from Alabama! I made my first batch of soap about a month ago and have since made several batches with enough success to inspire me to continue. In fact, I'm becoming quite passionate about it.

So far I've been able to find all my ingredients locally, though I have in the last week ordered a couple of EOs I couldn't find here.

This is my very first post!
