Hello everyone! My name is Karen and I am a lurker!
I've been coming here for several months, basically just reading and trying to absorb alot of information. I made soy candles for years as well as lotions and sold them in my store (small women's consignment shop which I sold about 2 weeks ago) but mostly for fun. Now I am a S(ingle)WHAM to two daughters and I've started thinking about delving into soapmaking too. I think sometimes I tend to over-analyze/study the basics rather than jumping in and just doing it, so that's what brought me here to read posts and gather info, as well I think I've read everything I can get my hands on about soapmaking...NOW it's time to get started already!
I hope to get to know some of you here and appreciate any advice or suggestions I gather along the way. The knowledge here is amazing!
I just received an order of oils, and starter kits of herbs, botanicals, clays and natural colorants and a 4lb wooden soap mold from Steve at Soap Making Resource, so I can play around and experiment with soaping. My family has no idea how much soap they will be receiving this year! Hopefully I can make something worthwhile!
Guess that's about it! Looking forward to getting started.
