Herbal Bug spray

I'm making an herbal bug spray with witch hazel, emulsifier and EO's. Do I need a preservative? I've seen them made with and without.

Don't quote me on this, but i think as long as there's no water in the recipe, you're safe without it.

Haha, well that's what I was thinking. I guess if it was witch hazel, water, and EO's then I might...

I agree with the water thing .. if there's no water I don't think you need it?

Just curious, are you making something to keep bugs away or something to go on bug bites? I always use witch hazel on bug bites and it helps so much!

Actually to keep the bugs away...but yes, it is good for bites as well.

usually when you buy witch hazel it has alcohol in it already to preserve it, so you shouldn't have any problems. Plus a lot of the essential oils used to deter bugs are natural bacteria busters.
