I am doing the crock pot method which i've done sucessfully many times....this time i used 1/2 of my water for the lye and the other 1/2 i mixed with goats milk powder....i incorporated the goats milk mixture in my oils and sb until it mixed then added my lye water....all looked good until i checked on it and it had separated....i sb it again and put the top back on....it separated again so i sb it again....now it won't gel and it stinks to high heaven.....i did the zap test and its good, no zap but why won't it gel? it's not separating any more and it has the consistency of thick smooth trace.....what do i do?
thank you thank you thank you

now it's been 1 1/2 hours...it's forming a "skin" and doesn't look anything like gelling....

No, not really. GM soaps looks a bit different in the pot is all that I can think of. What is your texture like after a stir? Is it thick?

it is....very thick but not "dry" thick....so, i did what you suggested and we'll see what happens....TYVM!!!!!

sounds like it's done to me. Milk soaps can tend to separate during the cook, so it's best to cook it on low.

Many people add the gm powder after the cook, because then you don't have to worry about discoloration or separation. You can just hold back some of the water, and make a paste/slurry out of it, and stir that in after the cook.

Anyway, it should be fine as long as it's not zapping.
