Hi all I’m using 30% avocado oil 30% coconut oil and 30% sweet almond oil with the remaining 10% being either mango or shea butter. The problem I’m having is that by the time I start putting it into the mold it has already started to set up so when I’m doing a layered soap by the time I get to the final layers the soap is already getting hard. What can I do to combat this? I’d like to make some swirled soaps but cannot if I can’t figure this out

The most common cause is over stick blending. Pulse for a couple seconds. Stir. Pulse. Stir. Pulse. Stir. When you no longer see a swirl of oil, stop.
Second most common would be soaping a little too cold.
Beyond that, we have to look at fragrance oil and additives.
So how do I know when to stop blending I was taught to stop blending at trace? My oils and my water are usually at 110 so I don’t think it’s that

Once fast moving soap reaches trace, it is a challenge to divide it, color it, and get it into the mold. Try stick blending to a stable emulsion, divide, scent, and add color. If more stirring is necessary do it by hand or just use a quick burst from the stick blender.
