Help PLEASE! can i use bentonite clay as a colorant/swirl in CP soap?

quick question as im just getting ready to make a coffee latte soap and realized i used up all my titanium dioxide i used for a swirl.
can i use bentonite clay in about 1/3 cup of soap base to use as a swirl? if so how much would you recommend for a 823 gram oils batch?
thank you so much! i just don't have time to research it right now so am hoping for any input!!

You can but it won't really color the soap, just tint it a very light greyish color. I wouldn't use more then 1/2 teaspoon, dissolve the clay in water first.

thank you! i guess i will give it a try since i have no other options unless anyone has a natural colorant idea for a cream/white i need for a swirl? thank you so much!

Hmmm... what about arrowroot powder? I’ve never use it in soap before... but it’s white.

If you are already set up, it's probably too late to do a Ghost Swirl (high/low water). But that would also give you some color variation. See this: Beautifully swirled soap without the use of any colourant at all.

Arrowroot is starch … not a good white pigment when wet, and it will become transparent when heated above 54°C.

Depending on despair – what about paintbox white tube (gouache, which is TD + gum arabic), or wall paint, or plaster? Soda ash?
