HELP-forgot an oil

I made soap this morning and forgot to add my almond oil. It was only going to be 6.54% of my recipe. I reran the rest of the oil through my soapmaker software and the resulting soap is only going to have a 1% lye discount. Will it be too harsh? Can I rescue it now? It is still soft and has only been 5 hours since I poured it in the mold.

1% should be fine because lye is actually not 100% lye...so you should be fine as far as not being lye heavy. The soap might be more drying depending on what oils you used...did you use alot of coconut or did you use mostly olive oil? You can however rebatch it with your forgotten oil to add some superfat. If you choose to leave it as is just make sure to zap test it or test with PH testing strips.

If I were in this position I would dump it in the crock pot with the forgotten oil and HP it!

Nope, do it now- no need to wait.

That's high in olive so you might end up with a decent soap...but again...if you have a crockpot- dump in there with the oil you forgot- that would be the best route.

Personally I would rebatching that one - there isn't enough OO in there to keep it really conditioning.

I've done this. I forgot an oil that was about 7% of my recipe. I shredded it and added the oil. The soap came out beautifully.

the re-batched soap turned out fine. I cut it this morning and have washed up with the slivers. Not harsh at all. It's a little soft, since I added a little water when re-batching, but hopefully it will dry up fine. Thanks for all the help
