Help! Floating Soap scum ahead...

Hi Everyone!
New to this group and new to bath bomb making!
Recently I decided to try my hand at making bath bomb cupcakes, and I also decided to try out Kaolin clay in them.
When it came time to try them out, it didn't fizz as much as I wanted and left behind this floating trial of soap debris on top (honestly don't know what I should call it). While it was soft to the touch, it looked so unpleasant...

The recipe was :
1 cup of baking soda
1/2 cup of Epson salts
1/2 cup of citric acid
1/2 cup corn starch
a few drop of fragrance
2 1/2 tsp of coconut oil
1/2 tsp of polysorbate
1 tablespoon of kaolin clay
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
some spritzes of isopropyl alcohol

Any thoughts? I do not want to gift these as I will die of sheer embarrassment ....lol

You could use this batch yourself or just toss it in the trash.

I've used Kaolin clay in mine with great success.
I've been using the recipe from Dean Wilson that he posted on his youtube video with great success.

The polysorbate 80 is the emulsifier and surfactant which should negate any serious floating bits.
Perhaps there is not enough of your polysorbate to work properly?
