Hi Hi All,

Another Ausie here.
I have recently just gotten into making soap. I have yet to make a batch of CP soap as I am still waiting on my molds to arrive. Hopefully they will get here soon as I'm itching to get making. :D

ps I cant spell hello today :S hehehehe

Good to see another aussie, welcome.
you know if you have a longlife milk/ juice container they make a good mould to get you started.

Your shopping habits will change too, you wjill start seeing things thru a soapers eye, lol.

Garage sales are great too, never know what useful things will turn up.

Welcome! :)
Waiting on supplies is the hardest thing, I'm waiting on few bits from aussiesoapsupplies and will have to for few more days at least.

Welcome! If you're waiting too long.....I made my first batch of soap in a cardboard milk carton. Do you have those down under? :D

Welcome D and W, milk cartons work well  'til your moulds come through.

Thanks fr the welcome everyone :D

If my moulds haven't arrived by the weekend I am going to use a milk carton I think. I'm getting so itchy to make some soap.

Hey quick question. Is there any point in adding a moisturizer cream like sorbolene to the soap? I was planning on making a goats milk and honey soap using olive, coconut, rice bran, grape seed and sunflower oils.

Ta muchly :D

I've never used a lotion moisturizer in soap but I would think it would be problematic. Depending on the ingredients in the lotion you might have some of the oils try to react with the lye. Even if there are no oils by adding the lotion to a watery solution (your oil and lye mixture) the formula may break down and you will have ingredients separating. I'm not sure what that might do to the end product. There is also the question of how much you might want to discount the water if adding something like a lotion.

Maybe someone else has actually tried it and will be able to give you a better idea of whether it is possible.
