Hey there! I’m Steph. I’m interested in learning to make my own soap bar but don’t have a clue where to start. Are there classes? Helpful info will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Welcome Steph, there are no soap classes on smf, but you can start reading in the beginners forum and get the info you need. First of all you have to decide what type of soap you want to make and research that, take lots of notes and work out what you need for supplies, you can start buying oils from the supermarket and use a milk carton for a mould, to see if you like making it. Look on you tube for videos to watch, plenty there.

Hi Steph, welcome! You can start with cold process soapmaking YouTube and sites like Soap Queen have great beginner guides or check for local workshops.

Welcome! There are some great resources and recipes to be found here!
I highly recommend some YouTube channels if you are a beginner and a visual learner. Besides soap Queen as listed above, I like Elly's everyday soapmaking and royalty soaps. Just make sure to do your own research as well.

Thank you for your response Relle. I didn’t know there are different types of soap. I have a lot to learn.
